Community Champions 2011

 

Do you know of a Hero Family who, through their kind actions, are creating a sense of community in your neighbourhood or community?

What defines a Family?

The Family has a broad and inclusive definition of family. It is usually a group of two or more people, such as parents, children, siblings, foster parents, caregivers, grandparents, aunts, uncles , cousins and/or a chosen family such as friends.  However, the most important thing to remember is that an individual defines their own family.

Contributing of one’s time is a gift of significant value. There is no way to measure gifts from the heart. It is these active chosen families that are the unsung ‘heroes”, whose unselfish acts and dedication improve the quality of life of the people they touch.

In order to recognize these outstanding chosen families, we are pleased to announce our second Annual "Celebrating Community Champions – Everyday Heroes Among Us" Awards.

Three Hero Families will be chosen over a six week period from March 7th to April 15th from these nominations filled out online by staff of the Wolseley Family Place.

Each "Hero Family" will be recognized live on Hot 103 live and will receive a Tim Hortons Home Brewer and $100 in Tim Hortons Gift Cards.

April 14th, 2011 by 2:00 p.m. for April 15th, 2011 On air Announcement
